Seniors Telefile Discontinued

Seniors did not have to prepare their tax return in order to use the Service for Seniors Telefile.  Using a touch-tone phone, clients needed only to identify themselves and answer some yes/no questions.  Income and deduction amounts need not be entered.

Information was sent to seniors in all provinces and territories in January of each year inviting them to use this service to file their tax returns.  To be invited to use the service for 2011 taxes, a senior must have used Service for Seniors to file their 2010 income tax and benefit return.

CRA announced in a June 27, 2012 news release that it was discontinuing its Telefile service.  It was discontinued as of September 29, 2012.
