BC 2012 and 2011 Personal Marginal Income Tax Rates

The marginal tax rate for eligible dividends has been revised for the BC 2012 Budget increase in the enhanced dividend tax credit from 9.76% to 10% of taxable dividends.  The rates before revision ranged from a low of -6.51% to a high of 26.11%.

The BC tax brackets and personal amount were increased for 2012 by an indexation factor of 1.024.  The Federal tax brackets and personal amount were increased for 2012 by an indexation factor of 1.028.

Marginal tax rate for dividends is a % of actual dividends received (not grossed-up amount).
Marginal tax rate for capital gains is a % of total capital gains (not taxable capital gains).
