New Brunswick 2021 and 2020 Personal Marginal Income Tax Rates

New Brunswick Income Tax Act s. 14, 16.1, 19, 35

The Federal and New Brunswick tax brackets and personal tax credit amounts are increased for 2021 by an indexation factor of 1.010.

New Brunswick uses the Federal indexation factor.

On May 11, 2021 New Brunswick tabled Bill 48, An Act to Amend the New Brunswick Income Tax Act, which reduces the lowest personal tax rate from 9.68% to 9.40% effective January 1, 2021.

The indexation factors, tax brackets and tax rates have been confirmed to Canada Revenue Agency information.

Marginal tax rate for dividends is a % of actual dividends received (not grossed-up taxable amount).
Marginal tax rate for capital gains is a % of total capital gains (not taxable capital gains).
Gross-up rate for eligible dividends is 38%, and for non-eligible dividends is 15%.
